Qualification
Defending champions (Indonesia in Thomas Cup and China in Uber Cup) and hosts Thailand have automatic qualification. The five team continental championships serve as qualifying events, with the four semifinalists each from Asia and Europe, and the champions from Africa, Oceania and Pan Am assured of qualification. Remaining spots in the final list of 16 will be based on team rankings.
Note: In case continental championships are not conducted, team ranking (cumulative points of top three singles and top two doubles) will decide the qualifiers.
