India and Korea, defending champions of the Thomas Cup and Uber Cup respectively, will begin their campaigns on the opening day of the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2024 on Saturday 27 April.
The defending champions take the court in the evening session (6pm) against Thailand and Mexico respectively.
To be held in Chengdu, the competition will run from 27 April to 5 May.
The competition consists of group stage followed by knockout. The group stage will be held over five days, with the first two days having three sessions each (8.30am, 1pm and 6pm), and the next three days two sessions each (9.30am and 5pm).
After the conclusion of the group stage on the fifth day, there will be a knockout draw featuring the top two teams from every group.
The quarterfinals will be held over two days, on 2 and 3 May, with the Uber Cup quarterfinals in the morning session (9.30am) and the Thomas Cup quarterfinals in the evening session (5pm).
Sunday 5 May will see both team finals, with the Uber Cup in the morning (9.30am), followed by the Thomas Cup in the evening (6pm).
Hosts China’s campaign to recapture the Uber Cup kicks off against Singapore in the first session of the opening day, while their Thomas Cup campaign begins in the second session on the same day, against Australia.
The other opening session ties are Malaysia versus Hong Kong China and Korea versus Canada (both Thomas Cup), and Japan versus Uganda (Uber Cup).
Indonesia are the current record holders of the Thomas Cup with 14 titles overall, while China hold the record in Uber Cup with 15 titles.
